CHICAGO, May 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As manufacturers and dealerships around the country work to move old inventory, the result of a relatively slow sales pace so far this year, lease deals and new-car incentives are abundant this month. May brings climbing incentives in the highly competitive mid-sized sedan and compact segments, as well as significant incentives in the large truck category.
The compact SUV segment continues to drive showroom traffic for dealers, bolstered by additional deals on models such as the 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, 2014 Ford Escape, 2014 Honda CR-V, 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe, and the 2014 Nissan Juke, which will continue throughout the month.
"Though new-car sales are picking up after a slow start in 2014, above-average inventory levels will likely keep consumer incentives high through spring and into the summer sales period," said Jesse Toprak, chief analyst for Cars.com, an automotive digital marketing company and car shopping site. "Considering how much value consumers are getting for their money today, we can safely claim that there has never been a better time to buy a car."
