Matthew Gold, Chief Strategy Officer

Matthew has served as Chief Strategy Officer since June 2018. In this position, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, including overall strategy, business development / strategic partnerships, inorganic growth, and management of Cars.com's network properties. Working with all functions within the business, Matthew's focus is implementing consonant strategies that explore new areas for growth in order to outpace the market and move more metal.


Matthew was most recently head of strategy & operations at Alphabet for YouTube's Emerging Markets Product Partnerships organization. Previously, he served on the leadership team for Google Consumer Surveys, where he helped build a two-sided marketplace for an emerging market research business within the Alphabet ecosystem.


Matthew earned a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor, both with honors, from the Kellogg School of Management and the Pritzker School of Law at Northwestern University, and he graduated with an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University.
